Darini Hariharan – true representation of India’s 21st century singers-special mention Sreelakshmi

daruVldesi

Dharini

It gives such great pleasure to bring this super talented youngster to this feature. There not another singer on Smule Sing show the same maturity in singing at such young age. Darini is a very unique singer, versatile, she dare to make changes to the norm and add her own music into the very iconic songs and effectively bring interesting variations to her music. She is very popular with a very large following on Smule.  Without delay let us start knowing this singer more up close. She is a singer of few words. She doesn’t bother much to reply her collaborations, may be almost never expect her to reply to any of your joins. May be she will change.

Darini Hariharan is from TamilNadu. Her favorite singer is Shreya Ghoshal and her favorite singer from western music is Beyonce. Asked about her musical aspirations. She says she is always trying to improve on her music and singing abilities. She continued ” I am singing now and will be singing only for the love of doing it”  Nothing more to it. She come out very different unlike many that we came across. We knew her for almost a year now, followed her singing closely. Like many genius artists she says she always doubt her ability. So she says “I am not that good yet”. Asked about her training in Classical music , she says she learned lessons in classical music. Added her parents or anybody from the family have any music background.

A singer of few words. We like to show you guys this beautiful singer through her music. We are absolutely thrilled Darini accepted this invitation and it took a long time for us to schedule this. Sorry for the long wait. You can follow her here on her Instagram at the following link pasted below. Please follow this beautiful singer at her Smule profile  https://www.smule.com/daruVIdesi

She maintains a vibrant Insta page

https://www.instagram.com/darini_music/?hl=en

Also, see her YouTube page here bit.ly/33DIbPp

Let us start knowing Darini through her music here; Note her maturity and the approach to the songs she chooses to sing. She sings it in her own way, still stick to the melody and try to bring all the beautiful expressions. You will always find her enjoying every bit of her singing in these videos. Listen to this beautiful song originally sung by Shreya Ghoshal.

Neha Kakar song. This is Darini’s own version. Give a listen. Beautiful expressions and 100 % involvement.

This is one of her earlier videos. Her involvement in the song comes out perfectly conveyed in her singing always.

The following video was selected specifically to show the super collaborations Darini made with Kapil. Isque Bulava; We had featured Kapil’s singing along with Manjari’s feature. Almost every collaborations Darini made with Kapil is in perfect harmony; Kapil is a super singer beyond doubt.

Darini at her best, One of her earlier songs. Absolutely beautiful. It is beyond the expressions. Give a listen

Darini’s singing here with Charlie Puth is absolutely right on. Very tough to get that perfection. KUDOS

Humma Humma AR classic. Darini is experimenting, and not even so aware of the outcome but absolute genius.

Another super singing of a beautiful melody originally sung by Monali Takur and song is Moh Moh Ke dhage-female version with  Kapil; it is a beauty. ENJOY this.

We made this song Kannampoochi enada from an audio file of Darini, just to show how mature this young singer musically is to sound like that. Listen to this classic originally sung by Chithra. This one sounds almost like the original.

Hope you all enjoyed knowing this beautiful young singer up close as we know her through her music. Please keep reading about our second singer in the next section.

Special mention

Sreelakshmi Unnikrishnan

snow

SnowL10 is a very poetic way for Sreelakshmi Unnikrishnan to represent her singing on Smule Sing. We came to know this singer not so long ago when our friends from Australia suggested her profile for a feature. Thanks for this help. We were looking for an appropriate singer to go along Darini on this feature.  When approached Sreelakshmi came out right professionally motivated realizing the importance of this. She was very doubtful about being new to Smule and not have lot of followers etc. But we noticed that she made a good effort to get Shabir’s Yayum contest and looked really good. We noticed much more something in her profile. Like  a lot of new generation of singers who bring a lot of western music influence into India’s music, SnowL also seem to experiment a lot. Earlier in India’s music scene not many serious classically trained singers attempted such singing due to a lot of dis-respect from the Pundits about the merits of the western music per se and lack of strong lyric content to bring the respect to be called as quality music. Western music used to be seen as noise and chaos of no rules. But it took many generations to change this concept and bring some respect to fusion singing. In an Epilogue that follows this feature we will cover India’s young singers whose singing is very much based in traditional music yet beautifully brought the western music to the ears of classically trained and thus gained a wide acceptance in recent years. This created a lot of super stars in India music and a singing career in this genre of music.

Sreelakshmi (SnowL) is basically from Kerala, but settled in Canada, Ottawa. Asked about her training in classical music, she said “I am trained in Carnatic music had been actively learning through her adult age. Asked about the influence of Western music in her singing she said “Since I am educated abroad, her music is largely influenced by western style of singing. She added quickly” yet I try to develop my skills in both styles of western and India music”. She like singing semi-classical songs, but would definitely like to try western style Rock music. She says from the India music, Chithra is her favorite singer and among the music director nobody other than A.R. Rahman (very understandably the musician who experimented extensively the world music to India’s traditional ragas).  And then she surprised us by saying she like old Malayalam classics? We haven’t heard her singing them yet; but that would be great to see old Malayalam songs with that western touch and mixes.

Asked about her idols in western music , more than a particular singer or group she like a good song that can capture her heart take prominence. SnowL like rock music and the reason behind it is the way the lyrics convey very strong messages  – Rise against (it is an American punk rock band, their 2017 release of single called Violence have lyrics said to be inspired by the 2016 US presidential election. Lead artists explanation of the name Violence is here ); Slipknot (OMG it is an American heavy metal band) again a very attention grabbing imagery with aggressive music style, and energetic and chaotic shows ( none like India music). and then she put her third rock band ACDC (personal favorite). ACDC is a hard rock/blues rock band (heavy metal style) ( a lot of history behind this band) with Billboard top albums. All these really surprised us hearing from a mildly mannered singer like Sreelakshmi. One should dream big and there is nothing impossible in this world. We love this young singer and her dreams of singing Rock. Way to go.
She continued to describe her music where she says language is not a barrier she can sing any language but music remain the same. She says in order for her to sing she need to like the song and can not sing for the sake of entertaining others.

SnowL had a good experience while visiting India to form a small band with friends performed for cable TV channel Asianet in a reality show. It was such small efforts that formed a singer of uniqueness we see today. Let us listen to her singing here with out dealy.

Here Snow mix Aalap in the beginning into the Rihanna version of Stay. Reminds SnowL voice and style to Grammy winner “Anoushka Shankar” (Ravi Shankar’s daughter) with that touch of India’s singing style into western music singing. Beautiful vocals.

A yet another beautiful video and singing. The song is Christina Perri’s Thousand Years mixed by her with own innovation and real talent and the video is absolutely beautiful, very personal and right on with up close and it is all about her singing the song and the eastern melody mixed into it is so well done. One small critique is her falsetto transitions can be improved a lot.

We thought it is appropriate to add this video of Sachin Sachu, who recently was one of the singer chosen for the Yayum contest by Shabir to screen for his future music projects.

Snow’s collaborations  with Nick are most watched of her videos. Unfortunately this video have some license issues. So one may will be forced to play it on YouTube itself.

Snow here singing with another Shabir’s pick for the “Yayum contest”. Snow prove she simply superb singing straight Malayalam songs here.

This song she probably proves her ability to sing any tough songs of any complexity. Note her absolute breath control and indeed a superb singing of a tough song.  A lot to be proud of here.

We truly hope you all enjoyed reading about both these singers of finest singing abilities and prospects of developing a career in music. Please write to us if you agree with this feature. Show support to this blog by following us.

ANECDOTE:

Young generation singers -a melting pot of India’s Rich Music traditions with western styles

In this anecdote we are going to discuss some changing trends in India’s music. The two singers in this feature are true representation of that youngster in India who listen to any music that sounds good to them and will innovate those influences into their singing. They are rebels, but will walk that path many haven’t gone or dared to go. They knew the risks. But talent and mettle make their singing widely accepted throughout the continent. We as usual is going to use the power videos to go through this experience.

Vidya Vox

We are very sure this video will go off-line since she is very sensitive about having her videos embeded elsewhere. So if this video is not here go here. https://www.youtube.com/user/VidyaVox.

She is the most sensational singer who recently created a successful career on her youtube channel by creating beautiful music where she invented ways to use traditional unique regional singing styles into her music. See the dance step used here is the typical ‘velichapadu’ movement with his sword in the hand. Very beautiful singer with tremendous respect from us for finding her roots no matter what style of singing that she adopted.

Shirley Setia

Shirley is phenomenal with her success even have Atif to sing with her (All Atif fans here, he is a singer from heaven). Enjoy this Shirley song with him.

Siddharth Slathia

Awesome videos of retro type singing. But he is not typically of any contribution to the traditional styles. But some of the expressions he try to bring to the old Hindi songs are right from some Ghazal singing styles.

Shraddha Sharma

She is the singer with a guitar and beautiful singing to add to it. But her love for guitar is so addictive to anybody listen to her singing. Watch this beautiful video here.

Jonitha Gandhi

One of the most melodious western style music mixed with India’s music singer. Very innovative; Exceptionally talented singer. May be the best singing voice among the new age singers. Most of her videos are out of this world beautiful and melodious. Big fans here.

Sanah Moidutty

We had added Sanah’s videos before in a feature with Vimal. She is one the most successful singer apart from Vidya Vox from Kerala with a great talent who produces very innovative song videos; sure you all will be hooked to her YouTube channel for hours in a row once you hear her, it is some magic in that voice.

END NOTES

This feature was made possible by a constant participation of SnowL and her hard work in a short time given to her hope paid off here. We truly express thanks to her for all her  efforts. In this context we also want to say a big thanks to Roshan (RJ) and Akhilesh Udenia both friends of the blog from Australia regularly write to us and help screen so many profiles and give feed back to us. It is a great help and we truly appreciate all the help for their time and help. Australia readers are very special for us. Next to India, US, Canada and UK our biggest readership is from Australia. Thanks all our dearest friends from the Australian continent for a huge support and inspiring words. We have  a story to tell about another Australian couple who wrote to us, who themselves are musicians, after reading our features about music from India, decided to visit North India to learn more about Hindustani Gharanas. Such a humbling experience. Thank you all. It is your blog, you want it take part in this.

Reji a beautiful singer of sweet melodies

Reji

Reji

Our feature on music from Kerala featuring Arjun Muralidharan and Vipin Subramanian have created such great response from singers, we promised ourselves that we will try to cover as many singers possible from Kerala.

We happen to see Reji by pure chance and never had known him until a mail came in suggesting Reji’s profile for a feature. One thing that strike first was Rejis profile looked like is presented with very artistically made video collaborations

REJI

“Reji” that is all we knew even after when we approached him for a feature. Reji is the most unassuming singer we have come across. He was very apprehensive about if he ever qualify to be featured with out any training in music. Reji’s profile at the moment is limited with some life changing events unfortunately.

Reji was asked about his music, so he started “I am an amateur singer but love singing and this music unknowingly made me find my soul mate i thought, but our thoughts could be completely defeating the reasoning.

Asked about what kind of music he like “soft melodies and romantic songs which he can use for expressing his feelings. He like trying tough songs like classical or songs that need a higher vocal range. This all help him get a better control of his voice.”

He continues “I try to put up songs that are close to perfect or close to my maximum satisfaction”.

Asked about the aspirations of a music career he says ” At the moment all i can say I would like to take a break from all and will begin a new mode soon”.

He says Playback singing is the dream of course and he will be working towards it.

He says “Although I have learned some classical in my early childhood, he plainly say I know nothing about music; ‘.

Although Reji is down to earth about his knowledge, we will soon see he is a natural singer, with an innate taste for all basics of good singing. We think although he came out a bit reluctant in the beginning ( which many might take as arrogance); we realized how nice a person he is in all his dealings. He is a super talented singer, whom we are happy to present here, although we have very few of his original songs in hand to present here.

Eee mizhikalin from ormayundo ee mukham movie, a super singing by him. Amazing singing by Reji Original score is by Vineeth Srinivasan and Mridula Warrior. We think Reji did an awesome job with his careful execution (that is his signature)

From movie Vivekam Kaadalada original song by Pradeep Kumar and Sasha Tirupati and we think Reji’s version sound close to the original. A beautiful song. Listen

Malare from Premam movie and original score is by Vijay Yesudas. Rejis’ song choices are right on with a great display of his music tastes

Yesudas from Udayananu tharam song Parayathe ariyathe nee poyathalle.

Uyire from Bombay movie ARR composition of a time less classic

END NOTES

At the end of very short feature about a singer not so much known or confident himself or with a lot of ambition we strongly feel Reji definitely deserve this. We saw a young guy who is hugely challenged when surrounded by a world where competitions and self propaganda make the best of it. But Reji is highly talented with a great control of his voice and knowledge of singing techniques. We are very proud to present him here and want everyone to go listen to him at his profile at this link. Encourage this singer.

Literature TIME

Instead of Poetry for this feature we decided to add some beautiful quotes from our most favorite novelist Gabrial Garcia Marqueez’s novel “Love in the Time of Cholera”.

For novice, Marqueez is a Nobel prize winning writer from Colombia. This particular novel plot is set as a very complex human experience of a love between two characters Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza. They are loving each other secretly, because Fermina’s father (Lorenzo Daza) will never let her marry Florentino. Her dad as the time went by, found out his daughters relation and he move with her to his deceased wife’s house afar from her lover. The lovers still communicate despite all the resistance. Meanwhile a young national hero Dr. Juvenal Urbino meets Fermina and begins to court her. Despite her initial resistance she ultimately give herself to her dad’s wish to be Urbino’s wife. Urbino had a greater goal in life of a public life where he was very active in the eradication of Cholera and build a name in public.

Even after Fermina is married, Florentino remained faithful to his love. Ultimately his promiscuity get the better of him. Even with all the women he slept with during Fermina’s abscence, he made sure Fermina will never find out all that. Urbino and Fermina lived and grew older together and during his old age while trying to rescue his parrot, Urbino fall down off a ladder and die. This gave a chance for Florentino to come back to Fermina. Although she came to know about his other relationships, she decided to give him a second chance. Ultimately, Fermina realize although the love she had with Urbino is never spiritually chaste. For her, Florentino with all his infidelity issues, she found him more mature and the life with him gave her more satisfaction and allowed their love to blossom even in their old age.

The novel is as typical of Marqueez’s other novels full of beautiful expressions. Here in this feature there is nothing more we can think of than adding some of those lines from his novel

To him she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people, that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one else’s heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. He had not missed a single one of her gestures, not one of the indications of her character, but he did not dare approach her for fear of destroying the spell.

and She

“She would defend herself, saying that love, no matter what else it might be, was a natural talent. She would say: You are either born knowing how, or you never know.”

“Tell him yes. Even if you are dying of fear, even if you are sorry later, because whatever you do, you will be sorry all the rest of your life if you say no.”

And finally most favorite quote of all from this novel

“The only regret I will have in dying is if it is not for love.”

END NOTES:

Come back next week to meet with up close with yet another two very beautiful young singers representing a new style of singing in India’s music. Thanks once again for reading and Visiting. Love you all.

Vinda Sazam – an Indonesian Singer who loves India

Vinda Sazam

image1

There is not a single week that makes us more happy than this week to write this feature. Vinda our sweetest and dearest friend from Indonesia. Although this blog cover subcontinent India we are doing this exception for her. Earlier we have covered singers from Nepal. Vinda by heart loves India and we all whole heatedly love Vinda and say welcome to India and thanks for making our feature beautiful by that super talent in singing.

We first saw Vinda when she wrote to us from Indonesia when Akash our very first male singer from mainland India is featured. Despite whatever circumstances we met her, all that is irrelevant to mention here. She is by a far the most deserving singer to be here for many other reasons related to her singing talent.

She is almost a celebrity by herself; her Smule profile have 150K + followers and most of her songs are played a minimum of 1.0 K and some of her collaborations in India especially with Akash is played over 50 K. What? yes it is true. Why? You will soon see her singing very soon and then you will know why.

Vinda is an artist we are very proud to be associated with; she is one of the best friends of our blog site and we are very glad it is that way. A little bit more about her that she want to share with entire India.

Vinda lives in Padang city, Indonesia. She says she loves all genres of music (of course she sings with singers from many different countries and have followers from all over the world). She says she also can sing very well Arabian songs. Recently she started singing Hindi songs and she became an instant super star on India sub-continent. She says her favorite singing idol from India is Sherya Ghoshal. Vinda says Shreya is awesome. She is very honest to say that she do not know how she can sing in harmony with all these different languages and singers, but somehow the music and melody innate in her make it possible for her to cross the language and social barriers. She is truly is a singer that proved this point on Smule beautifully. She continues to say  that she always try to change around all songs and try to innovate in her own ways and she try her best to make every song perfect and beautiful. She says she always try to feel the emotions in each song from the melody and try not to lose it and sing in harmony with her collaborators. She added quickly “Music is the language of the soul” She started on Smule Sing just over an year ago and she like to thank all her followers who pursued us to feature her. She says her fans are not just people, but consider all of them as her friends. We can endorse that very much. She is the super coolest friend we ever met on the Smule Sing.

Asked about her profession she said “I used to be working for banking sector in Indonesia and rose to the highest rank levels; but quit the job due to high stress and to be with her family and more she says she love to live peacefully. Now running her own business.  Asked about how many countries and languages she can sing she says ” I sing Arabic also a lot, although I never learned or spoke Arabic”. She continues “apart from Hindi the Arabic language songs are very close to my heart”. Among the current Arabic musicians she says Nancy Ajram is her favorite. Miss. Ajram is a middle east artist so popular that Nissan corp. want her to be their official Ambassador for Middle east launch of their new car models.

About her native language : Here we have a very interesting connection of Vinda to India. Vinda speak Bahasa Indonesian. We were awed how Vinda pronounce Hindi so well. Our research led to the discovery that very word of her language name Bahasa came from the Sanskrit word भाषा bhashsa (language) and there is a huge connection of Indonesian language to Sanskrit. Vinda says she love India’s languages, culture and more specially India’s music. She try to understand the meaning of all the India songs by google translation, and that help her bring the right feel of lyrics.

This is enough, we wrote about her singing; Vinda doesn’t need our endorsement at all. She is a born singer and we are sure will be superstar with great future in singing. Let us look at the way she sings. For her, the music is so natural; as people says music is a universal language and Vinda’s Smule profile is the ultimate example of that phrase.

Here, she is singing with an artist from Syria who lives in Lebanon, Mr. Mazen Otabashi; this video is played more than 2 million times. Look at the power in both the singer’s voices. Song Mouthini. Later we will listen to the same song that Vinda will sing with a guitarist from Middle east.

This collaboration with Akash is one of the instant hit in India most played over 50 K times in a short period of a month on the Smule Sing.

In 5 days this one with Fonsi on his super hit song Despacito Vinda’s video hit over 30K plays on Smule. How many people tried singing with Fonsi and can claim that kind of achievement? None. Probably this may be a Guinness record ?

Here Vinda Singing her Arabian singer idol Nancy Ajram song. If you play Nancy’s version Vinda’s version is better we think. Play it and enjoy this beautiful one. Goes to the record right there.

This is Vinda’s favorite collaborator Odai a guitarist she enjoy singing Arabian songs with. Odai is a great guitarist.

With her most successful collaborations in India with Akash. A super hit iconic song from Sharookh movie. Vinda and Akash can make records together.

Rockabye with AnnMaries’ class song over 25 K times played and still counting; and it is beautiful, Vinda’s voice quality is as good as AnnMarie. Anne Marie is a UK artist and this particular number is from Clean Bandit; “Rockabye”, with Anne-Marie as main vocalist and featuring Jamaican rapper Sean Paul. Ever since it is on Smule Sing there are millions of versions of this song but none can claim that success.

This song in Vinda’s own language with yet another equally strong singer from Indonesia. ENJOY

This one Hindi pop hit is played more than 65 K over now. Even singers of main land India singing could claim that people played their version of this song that many times on Smule. Han Hasi ban gaye

Vinda’s Arabic songs with this guitarist is another hit on the Smule. Odai and Vinda made these Arabic songs an awesome treat. This can be like Madonna’s La Isla Bonita Arabic version

The co-singer TARIQ FATEH ALI KHAN is an awesome singer of enormous potential. This particular invite of his, is an awesome one and we will feature him if he wish to approach us in the future all for himself. Vinda as usual joined here and made this song a celebration.

This is yet another beautiful singer from Kashmir Unis Sadique. Vinda joining him singing this beautiful melody. Unis is a very promising singer with potential to develop a career in singing.

Lucknow Ki Nawaab ji and Vinda again singing a beautiful melody

Again with Akash on an earlier time song collaborations with him. You can see her concentration on her lyrics learning and we can tell you she is a hard worker.

We thoroughly enjoyed this most pleasant modern out look Singer from Indonesia and did an awesome job of making it big on Smule Sing in almost a year time. She already looking like a celebrity here. All she need is that break and we hope Vinda and Akash will make a record together and we are sure it will be a hit in both countries.

While we work on this feature what we realized is the influence of Arabic music and tunes on India’s main land music. Some of these singers who grew up hearing some of the Arabic style music that made an enormous influence on their later singing style. Some of the Arabic tunes presented here is beyond beautiful, heavenly. All those beautiful tunes are part of a great tradition that is nurtured by the Islamic traditions.

The open minded sharing of a unique culture and its music with entire world is beautiful. Hope that all the hatred that growing all over the world is dissolved and such music forums will heal all the wounds. A fresh start through music and that will pave way for a new world where all religions and culture work together. PEACE

POETRY TIME

In today’s poetry time we are going to visit two Indonesian poets, Chairil who lived when Indonesia was not modern as of today and Toeti who lives in modern Indonesia and still struggle with freedom for women. We can see how contrasting they both are when they share their life experiences an an artist; let us look through the eyes of these two intellects. Indonesia at the moment is ranked 16th in GDP and by 2050, expected to be the 4th largest economy in the World.

“Aku” (meaning “Me”) 1943 by Chairil Anwar

Original post from where the poem is adopted is at the linkhttps://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Aku%20(poem)

English translation of Anwar’s poetry is added below; Anwar’s poetry reflects  human suffering and the resilience and the final message is that an artist’s sufferings make him/her a stronger person and all that courage shown facing them makes one immortal. So be fearless. May be a feeling many artists live through during their life time.  Also evident is the pride of self as an artist that he will not budge under pressure, even when faced with death.

This translation is done using google translator and corrected later for poetic expressions. We added this poetry to reflect upon all artists on Smule Sing who think their efforts are not recognized. Ultimately it is not the fame and money during one’s life that make you immortal. Definitely your work will remain immortal.

CharulAku (Me)

If it’s my time ‘

I want no one to seduce

Not even you

No need to sob

I’m a bitch exiled from its own pack

Let the bullet penetrate my skin

I’m still inflamed with crashing Wounds

I can run, Run Until the pain is gone

And I will be more indifferent

I want to live another thousand years!

Toeti Heraty

Tote

Toeti is an internationally renowned Indonesian poet with very strong views about women’s freedom in Indonesia. Her poetry has been described by experts quote “as difficult to understand, with a deliberately cultivated ambiguity” with an “often unexpected, purely associative kind of imagery.” But it is possibly her effective use of irony (note at the end of the poetry she says  “Ah, this charade
has been going on far too long
whenever two women talk“- she clearly expressing her anguish at the endless issues of modern women in Indonesia). She uses her words carefully to highlight the unfavorable position of women in a patriarchal society, that sets Toeti’s poetry apart from that of her peers.” Toeti in her career held positions along with men and thus knew many difficulties women face at the work, in-equality while holding equivalent positions along with men.

Give a read of her poem called “Dua Wanita,”. You get to see all that imagery which is reflective of a women’s issues she faced in life and by the time you go through few lines there is so much for you to think about. We thought when Vinda a powerful women artist being featured here from Indonesia and the fact that she is coming from a majority Muslim nation these thoughts on religion and freedom of muslim women is very much in the highlight here. Luckily, Vinda seem to be immune to many common societal ties many Muslim women may be facing when they have to express their artistic side. She can be very influential for an entire world through her singing.

Dua Wanita – Two Women

(People who speak Malayalam will be surprised title above in Bahasa Indonesian is almost Malayalam- another south India language derived from Sanskrit)

Please — please come in.
Easy smile, pregnant with meanings
— masks on the back wall —
this is an open house, my heart is open
see all the flowers on the table
— the phone is ringing, just unplug it —
spacious and pleasant, here we can sit in peace
beside the children playing on the floor
take off your armour, life’s paraphernalia
— the chaos of the city lies outside the fence —
here there is space, ease, refreshments on the table
and we can be open with each other, entrust ourselves to words
your life, my life in bright colors
against an ashen backdrop,
specks of black and crimson brushed off our clothes
a fragrant mist enveloping the stage
as colored sparks circle, glittering words,
reflections, are displayed on the table between the cups, car keys
the good intentions that have come to nothing
— the chaos of the city lies outside the fence —
plans to chase up
an hour, a day, the essence of life
squeezed for an instant…
Ah, this charade
has been going on far too long
whenever two women talk.

Maitreyee Moon and Sourajit Ghosh – Nomination by Smule singers from West Bengal

Maitreyee Moon

Moon_2

Sourajit Ghosh

It gives such great pleasure to introduce these two singers due to many reasons. They both would not have been noticed until our readers of the previous features on West Bengal wrote to us recommending their profiles to be featured. Maitreyee on one hand a very experienced singer where Sourajit is a young aspiring singer with lots of potential to grow into a professional singer. He had already taken music as a profession along with a main very successful career.

Maitreyee is very popular among her followers, some had been so vocal about her to be featured here. Our West Bengal feature on an amazingly beautiful singer Mouli created a lot of excitement as we see from the people who wrote to us during that week (nearly 30  profiles were suggested). That response was expected with the region being so active with many good singers that really are serious about singing. It is our inability to include all of them here. But certain criteria is set to come down to singers with serious efforts or thoughts provided to questions given to them.

Maitreyee Moon

MMoon

Maitreyee when approached did not respond for a long number of days and then all on a sudden responded with apologies. Hearing that her followers recommended her for a feature she expressed a lot of love and gratitude to all of her strong supporters. But question was is she really good.

She began introducing herself by saying that she is a singer by profession. May be she is the first featured artist who said music is her profession. You will see soon she is seriously a great one. She had been classically trained from very young age itself.  Asked about the type of music she said “Ghazals and Thumri styles of singing close to her heart. She also like light Bollywood music but mostly old songs”. She is very successful professionally by landing opportunities singing in many Bengali albums. You may visit her on her YouTube channel here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7vAXTBHv4VommoqHlgZlIQ

As we told you she is a serious singer with a “Sangeet Visharad” degree in Classical Music of India. On her YouTube channel one may find her stage shows.

Asked about why we should write a cover about her profile here, she clearly answered it without any doubt “I am a totally a dedicated musician” (Indeed a great reason to be featured here)

She went on to give her career aspirations.

“I do not have any inclination to be a playback singer or working under a big banner that produce music”. She never tried out her chances in any reality shows either. Her music is for her happiness and peace and for her followers who love her. She continues “one have to be doing in life what they are passionate about” and for her that passion is music and nothing else.

She continued to give much more strong views about what type of music she will make if given a chance.

She immediately said my album would be a Ghazal or Thumri or both mixed. Asked about her idols in singing she have very distinct tastes than an average singer we met during this journey. She said she is dedicated to Shobha Gutru and Rekha Bhardwaj (wife of noted Hindi movie director, composer and playback singer Vishal Bhardwaj).

It will be so necessary here to explain who is Shobha Gutru. She is an amazing female vocalist born in Karnataka and embraced Indian classical music and specialized in semi-classical forms of Hindustani music like Thumri and gave a new face to the whole Thumri singing.  Rekha Bhardwaj is famous for her unique mix of classical and commercial mix of styles that is very popular in recent Bollywood music. Knowing these two idols of  Maitreyee definitely define this singer pretty much. None of these singers were famous because they were play back singers, but are singing for their passion.

We are blown away by the comprehension in Maitreyee’s thoughts and rightly we want here add a video of Shoba Gutru singing in Maitreyee’s favorite singing style of Thumri. You can also see the beautiful Sarangi a typical Hindustani classical performance string instrument in this video.

This feature is all about Maitreyee’s singing career. Give a listen to this singer’s selected songs from her profile. We strongly support this singer in her career aspirations.

Lets us get onto to know this strong singer as picked by her fans. Here we start with Maitreyee’s favorite Bollywood genre music, old classics. Raj Naveen who is a constant co-singer with moon is a singer of certain special qualities. He is a Yodeler and a good one. Great job here

Although in her write-up we saw that Maitreyee is not much into playback singing; give a listen here. She is absolutely right on when singing any playback Hindi songs as well. Again with Raj Naveen she is singing a recent movie song Dil Mein Chuppa Loonga. The Video is produced very artfully. SMART production.

Maitreyee’s beautiful singing of a Rabindra Sangeeth. We will be covering an exclusive on Rabindra Sangeeth with yet another gem of a singer from West bengal Dipanwita an amazingly talented and trained Rabindra sangeeth singer in a later feature. Please stay tuned for this upcoming feature all Smule singers from West Bengal. The experts may differ although literature says Rabindra Sangeeth (see an important reference below) is largely influenced by the Hindustani Thumri style.

Here we get to hear some of Maitreyee’s best singing choices. Ghazals. Salona Sa Sajan de Asha Bonsle time less classic Ghazal; very tough to sing. Give a listen, here Maitreyee sang this beyond awesome. She made an Asha stamp ghazal to a Maitreyee version here. KUDOS

Dard Se Mera Daman Bharde – from album Sajda, a Ghazal, a very beautiful rare composition originally sung by Lata and Jagjit Singh and see the professionalism of Maitreyee here. Super job here. It is an album song not many have tried; this is a poetry written by Qateel Shifai. He is a Pakistani ghazal poet gone through a lot of difficulties before find some success in writing lyrics for films. If you carefully listen to its lyrics style, you can see a text book style of lyrics of a Ghazal.

Dil hai ke manta nahin; classic Bollywood here with one of her mentor, friend Gyanu ji. He is a very special friend of this blog who is a recent addition to our patrons whose constant encouragement and hard work help us keep this going. Thanks to him for the hard work behind the scene screening singers from the eastern India’s states. Gyanuji is an awesome singer himself who never wanted to be on this feature. Please forgive Gyanuji, this is a conspiracy by Miss Maitreyee. Wonderful singer is Gyanuji. ENJOY this.

Camera friendly and looks great on even Smule production. This is a very good sign. She can be on her albums. Dhodee badmash ho tum, beautiful, camera loves this singer. Very quality singing and what about that whistling. Wow! beautiful.

We hope you enjoyed reading this feature on Maitreyee’s smule profile, an absolutely great singer we lucky to know. We think she is a singer of professional quality and please support her and encourage her at her profile page here. Don’t worry about he traffic sign we know that she is bombarded with requests to join collaborations from all her followers.

Sourajit Ghosh

Sourajit’s profile was suggested by some of his followers who approached us for asking if they can be featured but also suggested him as their favorite. We looked at his profile and thought he definitely is a singer of high-caliber. When approached him he had no clue whatsoever about our blog. But once he got a chance to read the blog he was right on identified the importance of such a platform and agreed to be on this feature. A true professional approach in all his dealings. Very impressed by his focus and enthusiasm for pursuing a career in singing.

Asked if he is a trained classical singer, He explained this about his classical music training ” I have had training from four teachers at different times, even when he have a career other than singing he is still learning classical music. Just to let our female supporters who nominated him. He is single and he is a super successful software engineer working for IBM computers.

As far as his other efforts to continue his singing career, he says he is not shy to give a try on the Reality TV shows.  He already made to the finals at the moment in a reality music show called “Chant India”.

He continued to talk how he grew up and how his family helped him to be the musician he is today.

“My family is a musical one. We are a joint family.  All my sisters are trained singers. My cousin brother and I have learnt tabla for almost 9 years. My mother and my maternal uncle are my inspiration as they are very good singers themselves. My maternal uncle has done multiple programs with famous Bengali artists.

My class teacher discovered my singing talent and I had been singing on stages ever since. I have performed continuously on stage shows in school and college days.  My favorite genres of music are soft melodies. Usually love songs or sad songs. I love Rabindra Sangeet as well and it is appealing more and more as I mature and start to understand the lyrics and the tunes.”

Asked about an Idol for him it is almost a fixation on one singer and that is “Sonu Nigam”. He says “He is the best of best among all the singers he can think of. He promise himself that one day he will go meet with him for all that big shake hand and that fan moment.” Great choice and an absolutely great model to aspire to grow. Sonu Nigam have sung the most melodious songs of modern time Bollywood. We feel that each singer relate to songs and singers very naturally to someone who they relate a lot. Sourajit is a very grounded well thought singer. Asked to pick his songs for this feature he came up with few very gem of his singing on Smule Sing. Let us listen to this singer here.

Sourajit singing a beautiful Ghazal Chupke Chupke originally sung by Ghulam Ali. One can appreciate how carefully he executed this song. “I do not do videos ” he says, he is more comfortable singing voice recordings. So we had to make these videos from his voice recordings.

Abhi Na Jao this “cover track” sung by Sherya Ghoshal. Sourajit made this sound refreshing and made the song his own. Give a listen. Great Singing.

We included one song where Sourajit singing his favorite Idol Sonu Nigam’s most sensual and sweetest song that display the love between two brothers. Sharookh Khan became the big brother for many young actors of Bollywood after portraying this song on celluloid. Sourajit put a lot of feel into it, the singing is right on for this very iconic song from Bollywood movie. ENJOY

Sourajit Singing another  Sonu Nigam Song. Class performance here. one hudnred percent on all departments

Sourajit Singing a Ghulam Ali song Yeh Dil ye Paagal Dil mera. He could potentially be the new voice of a Ghazal artist. Give a listen excellent singing techniques.

Mohe Rangdo lal, A Hindustani raga based modern-day song. Beautiful expressions and this one goes to the top of Sourajit’s best singing. Very controlled voice and careful execution of a very difficult song.

Sourajit is an absolutely super talented young singer with a great voice to his asset; he know his choices very well. He did lots of  experimentation with his singing with some iconic songs. His ability to improvise and make them sound absolutely convincing is very commendable. It was an absolute pleasure knowing him here and thanks for the professionalism you showed when we were working on this feature. Keep rocking. Fans and followers please go visit this singer here

Anecdote

GHAZALS – songs that create a world of LOVE

Ghazal is a poetic expression of Love, Passion and pain of separation, loss of something that is close and every emotions we can imagine that make you feel happy at the same time make that weirdly feel that something is going to take all that away. The lyrics of the ghazals originated from Arabic poetry and full of words that came right from heaven with meanings that nobody can translate into any language. The songs are representation of love and separation.

A typical ghazal is generally composed of a minimum five couplets (not more than fifteen couplets max). The lines are in their structure and thematically very independent in the content. The length of each line in most cases are of the same length which makes them metered. The very first couplet (two lines together makes a couplet in Ghazals) introduces a theme in which the first line is made of a rhyme followed by a refrain. In every following couplet the second line repeat mostly the refrain of the first couplet. The final couplet will always include the signature of the poet, as himself referring to the author as the first or third person (almost all cases it will be poets own name included)

AghaShaid

After the end note we have included  Agha Shahid Ali (the picture)  and his one of the most famous Ghazal written in English “Even The Rain ” This is added for you to understand the principles of Ghazal writing. These are few of Inida’s famous Ghazal poet geniuses made Ghazal poetry famous abroad. Agha was born in New Delhi but later migrated abroad and did some phenomenal work on popularizing Ghazal style poetry.

Jagjit Singh

Jagjit’s tribute to his son who died in a violent car accident at the age of 20. This song explains what a ghazal singing can bring to singing. Here the pain of losing a son before he started a life is beyond comprehension. Jagjth’s wife Chitra stopped singing and retired and never returned to public singing. Give a listen. You will hear all the pain of parent losing a child in these lines. Earlier the Qateel’s poem (sung by Maitreyee) also is a prayer to god but more filled with the sorrows of human existence and how we all cope with them is beautifully brought out in a ghazal singing.

Rahman in the Kollywood movie industry. Some of the movie songs he sang is only can be sung by him; nobody ever able to bring all the slight variations he could bring to his singing. Time period of last four decades saw a golden age of many great Ghazal singers lived and entertained an entire population of Ghazal listeners through their Ghazal singing. They conveyed the most finest human feelings through their songs. We cried and laughed with them. We accepted them and their all emotions into our heart. Now it is time of young singers to say that  we want to be that singer. Few singers we featured earlier here Ashwin Kumar and Ali Zafar (Yugal, Milan Lama and Ali Zafar- Three singers from the banks of mighty river Ganga (Ganges) who said they aspire to become ghazal singers. There is a whole lot of opportunities out there that will open a lot of space for your self expression. GHAZALS WRITTEN IN ENGLISH

Even the Rain

Agha Shahid Ali1949 – 2001

What will suffice for a true-love knot? Even the rain?
But he has bought grief’s lottery, bought even the rain.

“Our glosses / wanting in this world”—“Can you remember?”
Anyone!—“when we thought / the poets taught” even the rain?

After we died—That was it!—God left us in the dark.
And as we forgot the dark, we forgot even the rain.

Drought was over. Where was I? Drinks were on the house.
For mixers, my love, you’d poured—what?—even the rain.

Of this pear-shaped orange’s perfumed twist, I will say:
Extract Vermouth from the bergamot, even the rain.

How did the Enemy love you—with earth? air? and fire?
He held just one thing back till he got even: the rain.

This is God’s site for a new house of executions?
You swear by the Bible, Despot, even the rain?

After the bones—those flowers—this was found in the urn:
The lost river, ashes from the ghat, even the rain.

What was I to prophesy if not the end of the world?
A salt pillar for the lonely lot, even the rain.

How the air raged, desperate, streaming the earth with flames—
To help burn down my house, Fire sought even the rain.

He would raze the mountains, he would level the waves;
he would, to smooth his epic plot, even the rain.

New York belongs at daybreak to only me, just me—
To make this claim Memory’s brought even the rain.

They’ve found the knife that killed you, but whose prints are these?
No one has such small hands, Shahid, not even the rain.

Vimal and Sayooj – representing a new wave of change in Malayalam singers

VIMAL VIJAYAN

Vimal_vijayan

It is with such pleasure that we write here about a very successful singer from Malayalam Smule. We can say it is his sheer perseverance, not a stone UN-turned attitude and a lot of hard work that made the successful Vimal Vijayan from a boy growing up in Dubai (originally from Northern Kerala (Palaghat) currently reside in the great city of Cochin) made such strides in his journey of music career (while have another career). We have to say such words about him “a live wire with full energy and with a terrific sense of humor”. People love his lively presence on the Smule with such a great attitude towards his collaborations and a very warm personality. Very important aspects of being successful we say.

Asked about his aspirations in music, he started off with his earlier days of musical experience. His first ever major achievement was on television where he was a selected contestant on Jaya TV’s musical competition Ragamalika. Ever since he wanted to make music and had that dream to get associated with great music directors and musicians in the play back industry. He admit with lot of regret that he haven’t got that opportunity for formal training in classical music.

Vimal continues to give a strong vision of the type of music he want to make. He says “The music I want to make need not necessary associated with movies; but I will be very satisfied if I could do some productive associations with great musicians that will produce really great music”. Not being able to learn classic music made him shy away from really chasing that big dream. But Smule Sing changed all that for him and getting to know all these great singers make him gain all that lost time in his dormant years of not actively pursuing his dreams.

The Smule sing gave him a chance to try out various genres and styles of singing, and helped him keep experimenting in an easy way. He says he know what songs suit him and what songs he may be able to try experimenting with. Right there we say “a great quality of a good singer”.

Vimal did more than hundred song covers as his own production and he says those helped him get that first break in singing for a movie. He achieved this much earlier than he started on Smule. Vimal said at his work he have a small group of friends that he jam together for the love of music and they each other learned a lot by doing so.

Asked about his music idols we heard the obvious name of Dasettan came first,  but kind of surprised to hear Udit Narayan’s name (but perfect choice) and Rafi saab from old generation and he added quickly SPB’s name. (All absolutely perfect choices)

Let us start with Vimal’s debuting movie playback song . He said he had sung this much before he even started singing on Smule.  Here enjoy this up coming movie promoted by Ondraga entertainment. The below song is a lot Vimal can be proud of. Keep going, we all are very happy for you; such great voice and singing. KUDOS!

This following video is so much special for Vimal due to two reasons, First this is his first Smule song, Second he is singing this with his son in this video. It looks like definitely the gene for singing is passed on. Very adorable father/son song. ENJOY this. Love this.

Here he sings his all time favorite idol Rafi saab’s time less classic. The co-singer is Deepti Raman. Deepti need a special mention here. She is one of the finest singers on Smule Sing. Every collaborations she make she puts a lot of hard work behind it and a very pleasant presence. Vimal and Deepti sing quite a bit of together. This one goes to one of the best collaborations. ENJOY.

Vimal sings in the following video a beautiful melody with Soumya. Nilakudame. Any song sung by Jayachandran is the toughest thing to reproduce or sing close to it. Vimal as you see below did a very commendable job indeed. Great support by Soumya.

Humein Jab se Mohabath ho gayi hai with this beautiful singing by Deepti joined here by Vimal on this fantastic collaboration. Original sung by  Sonu Nigam & Alka Yagnik

The is another beautiful Rafi classic. Vimal did excellent in bringing the emotions in this Hindi Classic with RaaZiqq who himself is an outstanding singer with a magic in his voice. Vimal says it is RaaZiqq who brought him into try out Smule Sing. ENJOY.

Singer Shruti a terrific singer not so recognized on Smule join Vimal in this beautiful O Jana song.

Tu cheez Badi hai song performances from Vimal’s profile almost made history in Malayalam Smule. See below the video song which created news headlines on Manorama online news (see the link  http://www.manoramaonline.com/music/music-news/2017/10/26/tu-cheez-badi-hai-in-smule.html). Vimal says these are few of his performances he is very proud of. Indeed both these singers did an Amazing job with this Bollywood iconic song. Please give a listen for sure.  Visit Nisha Oomman here on her Smule page.

Anagha with Vimal. Anagha is a Phenomenal (with a capital P) singer with lot of potential; also a constant collaborator with Vimal. Personally think she potentially by far one of the best young female singers who can develop a career in singing. Please visit her profile here.

A super cool acting and singing performance by Vimal with Pradip Soman Sir. Vimal can try a hand on acting for sure.

Vimal’s profile brings such a number of fine singers; readers should be able to fathom how talented Vimal should be to bring all these talented singers to his profile page. We enjoyed much wrting this feature and hope you also know a lot more about this singer and please visit him here and support this great singer with a purpose.

Special Mention

SayooJ Kuniyil

Sayooj

Sayooj is a recent find a very pleasant friend to know. It gives immense pleasure to introduce him here along with Vimal. We really think Sayooj is very talented singer with a lots of aspirations to develop a music career. He hails from Kannur. He says music is his passion. He immediately says coming from a background with no music connections the opportunities are rare. He works for TATA STEEL and lives in Bhubaneshwar. Sayooj is a classically trained singer. He says he love singing melodies and semi-classical songs. For him Dasettan is similar to God as far as the magic in his voice. He continues to say Dasettan-Ravindran combination is his best-loved songs. Sayooj is very ardent music listener, he mentioned the name of a young sensation in Malayalam music, Sooraj Santhosh and he says Sooraj is his model to look forward when he think of what he want to do with his music. That is where we think Sayooj and earlier featured singer Vimal are a new breed of singers that we discuss in detail at the Appendix section (see below). Sayooj realize the power of internet and electronic media in the modern world. Sayooj when he said Sooraj Santhosh as his model to grow his music career, it is that new trend of music that is so popular among youngsters these days. Old lyrics in a way that youngsters can relate to.  We all know Sooraj Santhosh and his singing on Music Mojo on Kappa TV are the ones that fetched him the movie play back opportunities.  His song from the movie Guppy Thaniye is not only made him famous but put him as one of the few singers who can hit that high note without an effort.

Let us listen to Sayooj. Here he sings Manasellam Mazhaye

Original full song Manasellam Mazhaye

Ariyathe Ariyathe with Rakhi Menon. Beautiful singing by both

Here Sayooj sings an all time hit sung by Nikhil Mathew. Many have attempted this song on Smule and many will keep trying to perfect it as original is one of the most toughest song to sing from Malayalam. We believe Sayooj and Nithish (a good singer) did an excellent job with this very tough song to sing. ENJOY

Sayooj is a young singer who need a lot of encouragement. Please visit him at his Smule profile here

Appendix:

Music cover videos-a new way of self expression for musicians

(First things first: a music cover by definition is a performance by a new artist of an older version of the original song).

Two decades ago if you are musician who want to sing play back he definitely have to think of moving to Madras or Bombay where most of the music directors lived and most of the India’s major music industry is centered around. With video cameras that can make high quality videos and sound recordings of highest quality when reached into the hands of many and above all availability of high-speed internet throughout the sub-continent made it easy for anybody sitting anywhere in the world to produce their own cover videos and upload on the internet. This made the task of any artist who want to showcase his/her singing ability to a music director sitting else where to send right into his email a performance that he can look at his own convenience. With Smule sing gave the power of singing and recording studio quality songs right in ones hands made the task even easier. Today’s successful singers also see the YouTube presence and any other mode of internet presence to be so valuable to their success. This all lead to one simple aspect that point to the power of internet and media very much; As simple as it can be put “You be there always doing something people will remember you“.

In this special section we have picked some extremely successful young singers who apart from Smule sing have made a sensation using YouTube song productions. This is not in any particular order; but most of them made their videos on a shoe string budget but did come out so polished at par with some studio productions. So for a comparison we have included some playback singers YouTube productions as well. Nevertheless we need some standards to compare.

Ganesh Bharadwaj

Our first pick is Ganesh Bharadwaj, A close friend, supporter of our blog (Thanks for being there always and encourage everything). Here is the Super talented multi faceted most kind friend. Karuna Cheyvan Enthu. That magic in his voice goes straight to our hearts. Please go subscribe to this beautiful singer’s YouTube channel here.

His hit internet sensational song ‘Omana Thinkal Kidavo – Madhava Mamava deva’ with Shweta Mohan

Raghav Chaithanya

Raghav is the most enchanting youngster singing mainly in Hindi; His videos are very entertaining displaying his ability to improvise. We see enormous potential in these videos.

Nikhil Mathew

Nikhil know people will be yearning for his singing after his one and only super-duper Malayalam hit Azhalinte Azhangalil. He runs his own YouTube page to keep singing for his audience. The presence on the web is so important for any level of singer these days.

Shweta Mohan

Why would one think Shweta need a YouTube channel. Please visit her excellent YouTube site, She is Amazing not only singing but everything up there is perfectly artistic. She know the power of YouTube channel for her self-expression which probably is not possible in playback singing. For western world singers, this new trend seen in  India’s subcontinent now, happened decades ago. Watch the following video of a typical example what one can do with musically connected friends. Lots to learn from.

Patrick Michael

His presence on YouTube despite a lot criticize him for everything starting from him using expensive electronic sound synthesizing techniques and modulate his voice etc. (so what?)  He is followed madly on his YouTube and Facebook by many. Our personal opinion about these critiques is that to sound like that, despite all electronics one have to sing well; the rest is everyone uses expensive gadgets if they can afford.

A devotional song by Patrick, love this so much

Kester

Kester a close friend and known him ever since his young not so famous days; and he is one singer who knew the power of YouTube before many embraced the power of it from Kerala. He made a career singing Devotional Songs and his YouTube channels are not even run by him, but other Christian devotional groups trying to promote this divine singer. He is one of the best subscribed among any devotional singing in India. Here is Kester singing Yahova Yire

Anantha Narayanan

A real shoe string budget guy, but look at the videos of him. Beautifully made  and extremely smart in this production. At par with any other studio productions. He also have sung some playback songs in Tamil.

Mohammed Irfan

Mohammed is a very successful play back singer. He came through Reality shows and then found his place through Cover songs on Youtube with his independent production and SPB saw him and introduced him to music industry. All these singers are memorable just because their presence on the web is kept alive.

Arman Malik

Why he have to have a YouTube channel? because he found it a place where he can display his creativity as well. Some of his YouTube videos are more popular than his playback tracks. This proves people love seeing the singer himself than a hero lip sync to their favorite singer and songs.

Mathrubhumi Kappa TV

By far the most successful innovative music productions pioneered by the Mathrubhoomi group.   The following video is one of their most popular promoted group called Thaikudam bridge. (Name of bridge in the great city of Cochin) and its handsome youngster Siddharth Menon’s original song. This music band is formed by young similar taste singers in theory proved they can produce such a magic that people were hooked to their singing. The band mainly sang cover versions of old songs, yet entire Kerala enjoyed all these versions. The story of Thaikudam bridge is history with its one of the singers Siddarth Menon captured the imagination of a whole lot of light-hearted young ladies. Here is one of his most played hit song with Shreya Ghoshal. Moovanthi Chayam

The Manorama Music

Manorama music is yet another great supporter and influence on young aspiring singers. A new singer new voice singing an album song, Give a listen.

Our featured singer Sayooj’s role model Sooraj Santhosh singing that unbelievable song Thaniye on stage for you. Sooraj is a singer much promoted on Kappa TV. Give a listen. I am sure there are only few singers who can sing that high note like him.

UDITAKHANDURI

March 01 2018

…… ..please know It is Holi!

See all the world’s drenched in colors,
there lies a blanket on my cushioned sheet that is
touched by many with colors
but If you put some color on It

.. that will make my Holi!

My mind has put on wings, Ever since you hugged me hard
The breath through my throat gone dry, but I hope you bring your lips to mine

..that will make my Holi
**
The sky above is dark blue
The earth below is slush green,
I am waiting this evening for you with decorations on my stairs,
I hope you come to me wearing that red choli

.. that will make my Holi!
**
Swinging dreams on the eyelashes, the
countless prayers are for to meet with you
yet we both can’t make that time
yet I hope this season you come running to me

.. so dear please know that will be Holi to me !
