Akash Singh- A handsome flavor from North India

Akash – we happen to see him singing for just a few months and maybe he also has a Smule Sing account only over a six months period he has already sung over 30 K songs and he has over 13K followers. They can not get enough of him. In minutes of his recording, his wall is filled with appreciation and love. We spend hours listening to his channel. Is he the best voice? Maybe not, yet why he is worth featuring here? It is his daring experimentation with his singing, and take some toughest challenges in experimenting with his songs from recent best Hindi singers, and his success in making it convincingly his own makes him our pick of the first male singer from mainland India singing in the national language Hindi.

His singing is very current and in his choices of songs he always knows which ones to pick. We strongly believe that he could be a professional artist making his own albums. He had the charisma and the appeal of huge fan followers. and he has the talent to become a great singer.

Over a period of our observation, he sang quite a bit of singing and we picked some very gems of his singing to highlight what we found in him as a star singer of mainstream Hindi singers who could develop a career in singing. Aakash also always says nice things to his collaborators, and that is the way to go. Please also have to say all the recordings are very poor quality for some unknown reasons.

Featuring singers from India is so unique each week I get to go to a different region to cover a new language or new niche of a state and a new singer. It is very challenging but learned a lot about people and how each culture uses music in their social behavior. The people who started Smule are also interested and studied extensively about this aspect during their thesis work. In 2013, co-founder Jeff Smith completed his Ph.D. with the thesis titled “Correlation analyses of encoded music performance”, where he documented cultural differences of music performance interpretation. The more prominent figure Ge Wang is a Chinese American musician, computer scientist, app designer, and professor, known for inventing the ChucK audio programming language and for being the co-founder, chief technology officer (CTO), and chief creative officer (CCO) of Smule, a company making iPhone and iPad music apps. He also helped create the Princeton Laptop Orchestra and later founded its Stanford counterpart Stanford Laptop Orchestra, as well as the Stanford Mobile Phone Orchestra. Wang is the designer of the Ocarina and Magic Piano iPhone apps. Wang is currently an assistant professor at Stanford University’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA).
